Our Real Impact filly “Stella” completed her first prep at our Moruya stables and went to the paddock yesterday. She did eight weeks of trackwork, including three gallops and barrier education. The video below is her barrier progress in the space of only two jumpout practices.
She has done an excellent job this prep and we think she should be able to get to a trial next time in. She will be spelling for 4 weeks.
Stella is coming along great. She had barrier practice at the end of last week and she was very calm to load and stand in the gates. She started some light galloping this week, just running up the last furlong (video above – she is on the outside). The video below is her walking in the courtyard and as you can see, she is holding her condition well as she steps up her work.
Stella is coping very well with the work she is being asked to do. She is just eats and works and sleeps, which is exactly what we want the babies to do to build their strength and toughness for their racing careers ahead.
“Stella”, our Real Impact yearling filly, has been at the stables for a month now and is coming along great. She was broken in earlier in the year, after being purchased at Magic Millions, and has done another educational prep at the pre-trainer before coming to Moruya. She is a strong framed filly and a great eater who is coping really well with stable life and the work she is being asked to do.
She did some pace work at the pre-trainer last prep and the good early education she received really shows. She is very professional and is up to some 3/4 pace on the grass track on fast work mornings. She is closest to the camera walking to the track and on the inside in the video below doing 3/4 pace up the straight.
