Abundance had a set back this past week when he didn’t pull up very well from his gallop on Saturday. We decided not to race him this weekend and instead we will back off him this week and just do light work. We will treat him with some medication and aim to have him ready to race on January 2nd at Sapphire Coast. He is still eating well and is quite happy to be doing river and trail rides all week as he really enjoys that.
Abundance had his second jumpout for the prep this morning and he travelled very well to the line (video above). He ran the fastest time of the morning: 800m in 45.82 seconds and the last 600m in 33.36 seconds.
Abundance is entered to race at Sapphire Coast on Monday in the Class 1 over 1200m.
Abundance will have his second jumpout on Tuesday as he works towards his first race start for our stable on the 2nd of December at Sapphire Coast. He has been coming along well at trackwork and is really enjoying his river days (closest to the camera in the video above).
Abundance had an easy jumpout at Moruya this morning (video above). He hasn’t done a lot of pace work this prep so he wasn’t asked to do too much during the jumpout. He sat 2nd for most of the 800m and worked into the lead up the straight. They ran the 800m in 47.37 seconds and the last 600m in 34.36 seconds.
He pulled up very well and was hardly blowing by the time he got back to the stalls. He should be ready to race at the beginning of December and we will aim to take him to Sapphire Coast on the 2nd.
Abundance is coming along very well, building up his 3/4 pace work. He will have an easy jumpout on Tuesday next week (12th November) at Moruya. The video above is his 3/4 pace work on Saturday.
He also had his first trip to the river this week which he really enjoyed (in the middle in the video below). The river is an excellent tool we use to help the horses recover from gallops and races.
Abundance has started pace work and is coming along great. He did 3/4 pace on the course proper yesterday for the first time and he was confident and travelling into the bit. He is a lovely horse to work with and he seems to be building his fitness quickly.
Abundance continues to work well, cantering to build his fitness. He has moved yards and he really likes his new neighbour and seems very happy.
We welcomed new horse “Abundance” this past week to the stables. He comes from Victoria with one victory to his name. He has settled in very well and is a lovely boy to ride on the track (video below).
He came to us from the spelling paddock so he will do at least three weeks slow work before starting some pace work.
