Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom is racing at Sapphire Coast on Sunday (Race 7 at 3:45pm). She has been working great and is in good at the weights. We think she is a good chance on Sunday. Please click above for her video update.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom is racing at Nowra on Thursday in the Class 3 1200m (Race 7 at 4:05pm). She has barrier 9 and Shaun Guymer is riding her. Please click above for Betty’s video update.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom had another impressive jumpout this morning (video above). She ran the fastest heat of the day without being asked and just cruised to the front in the straight. She will go to Nowra on the 17th of June for her first start in the Class 3 1200m.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom will have her second jumpout for the prep at Moruya on Wednesday. Her first jumpout was very good and we plan to take her to Nowra on the 17th of June for her first race in the Class 3 over 1200m. She had all her Winter coat clipped off this week (photo above). She grows a very thick coat in Winter and it makes it difficult for her skin to dry. By clipping her we can keep her skin in better condition and ensure she is not wet for too long after she works each morning.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom had an exciting return to the track at this morning’s jumpouts (her rider is wearing pink in the video above). She doesn’t usually perform well at her first jumpout but today she was strong to the line and pulled up very well given she has only done minimal fast work heading into today. She also did not have her blinkers on so we weren’t expecting her to be so switched on.

She will have a second jumpout on June 2nd.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom has recovered well from her run at Nowra and has been working good at home. She is nominated in the Class 2 1600m at Sapphire Coast this Saturday. The fields will be published on Thursday morning. She is one of the higher rated runners in the nominations and she has won both her previous starts at the track.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom is racing at the Moruya Showcase meeting on Monday in the Class 3 over 1650m (Race 8 at 5:20pm). She will be ridden by Shaun Guymer from barrier 7, carrying only 55.5kg.

She had her final gallop on Tuesday morning with Hoystryke (she is on the outside in the video above). She has recovered well from her last race at Moruya and the step up in distance will suit her. The 1650m start at Moruya is a bit tricky because the track starts turning very quickly after they jump so to avoid being stuck too wide, the race plan will be determined by how she leaves the barriers.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom had her final gallop on Tuesday morning (video above) before she heads to Kembla Grange for the Highway Handicap this Saturday. Maddison, her rider, was very pleased with her gallop and we think she will go well on the weekend.

There is not much speed in the race and from our good barrier (finally), we are hoping to be sitting in the first four from the jump. A lot of the favoured horses in the field are back markers and with our low weight, good barrier and Shaun Guymer on board, we think she is a good each way chance.

Boom and Zoom

Boom and Zoom is racing at Nowra on Sunday in the BM58 over 1600m (race 7 at 5:35pm). She has barrier 6 and Shaun Guymer is riding her.

She had her final gallop on Wednesday morning (video above). This will be her first race over 1600m which we think is going to suit her. She should be able to sit closer over the further distance and not have to make up so much ground. She has a good barrier and is ultra consistent so we expect her to be a good top three chance in this field.
