Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder had her first jumpout for the prep today. Her rider is wearing pink in the video above. She hung out around the turn and was blowing quite a bit when she came in but her performance was pretty typical of a first jumpout for her. The heat was run in a fast time and she finished off good.

800m – 46.46, last 600m – 33.39

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder notched up her 4th victory since joining our stable (5th career victory) at the Moruya meeting on Saturday. She carried 60.5kg but still sprinted away with the win.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder continues to work well and will step up to start galloping at the end of this week. She is aiming to have a jumpout on the 10th of February.

Heavenly Thunder

As always, Bradley Photographers captured some great shots at the recent Moruya meeting, including this one of Heavenly Thunder running down Sarzana in the closing stages.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder steps up to 1200m at Moruya tomorrow and is back on a dry track. She ran a good race last start, despite being on a heavy track, which she doesn’t really like. Kayla Nisbet is riding her from barrier 1 and we think she is a good winning chance.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder is racing at Moruya on Sunday in the Class 3 over 1020m (race 5 at 3:25pm). Kayla Nisbet is riding her from barrier 11. Although we had a lot of rain at Moruya, the track is drying out fast and should be suitable for her by Sunday.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder pulled up quite tired after her fast finishing run at Goulburn. She ran the last 600m in 32.89 seconds and was absolutely flying when she got clear running room.We are planning to race her again at Goulburn on the 31st.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder had a strong jumpout last week (video above). She stayed tucked in behind until she was in the straight and then she worked past the other runners to finish in front. She was not blowing too much afterwards so we have entered her to race at Goulburn on Friday.

Heavenly Thunder returns to the races on Monday at Moruya in the BM58 over 1010m (Race 7 at 5:25pm). She had a short freshen up in the paddock after her good performance at Sapphire Coast. She has a very wide barrier and Kayla Nisbet is riding her who has won on her before.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder is entered to race at Sapphire Coast on Sunday 2nd of February in the BM58 over 1000m (Race 4 at 3:10pm). Jess Taylor will ride her from barrier 1 with 57.5kg.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder had her first gallop back this morning (video above). She is aiming to race at Sapphire Coast on the 2nd of February.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder is stepping up to the Highway Handicap at Rosehill on Saturday. She has drawn a good barrier and has no weight. It is a big field so there should be plenty of early speed allowing her to settle and sprint home. Her last two races have been very good and we think she is up to this grade when she settles and races her best.

The video above is her final gallop on Tuesday morning.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder had a good gallop on the course proper this morning (video above). She is entered to race at either Randwick on Saturday (but will probably be balloted) or Nowra on Sunday.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder is aiming to race again at Moruya on Friday. We have changed her gear in an effort to stop her charging and hanging during the race and her trackwork has been much better this week. The video above is her gallop on Saturday morning.

Heavenly Thunder

Heavenly Thunder has come through her victory at Sapphire Coast very well. She had a very tough run but has bounced back and races again on Friday at Goulburn. She had her first visit to the river this week and once she was in, she was very good. The river is an excellent tool for horses like Heavenly Thunder that work very hard on the track and it gives them something different and easier to do.
