Napoleon Solo

Napoleon Solo

Napoleon Solo ran a good race today at Kensington. He was able to settle closer than usual and finished off well. Please click above for his post race comments.

Napoleon Solo

Napoleon Solo had a 1000m jumpout this morning. His rider is wearing black in the video above. He settled in behind the leading pair and worked home the last 100m. He will need more of a hustle up at the top of the straight when he races but he was making up good ground in the closing stages. He will be nominated to race over 1400m first up at Canberra on the 26th of November.

1000m – 59.75, last 600m – 34.27

Napoleon Solo had his second jumpout for the prep today. Shaun Guymer came down to ride him and he is in the Thorotek silks (green with white sleeves) in the video above. He was in a strong heat with a couple of good sprinters so over 800m we didn’t expect him to be able to beat them but he finished off good as he approached the line. We are aiming to race him at Canberra on the 26th so he will probably do a longer jumpout in a fortnight to top him off for his first race for the prep.

Napoleon Solo had his first jumpout for the prep over 800m on Monday. His rider is in the light blue colours with the white cap in the video above. He had only done two trackwork gallops in the lead up to this jumpout so it was good to see him really working to the line. His attitude has been quite different to last prep and this was a good first jumpout. He will have a second jumpout in a fortnight when his fitness should be better again.

Napoleon Solo had a solid jumpout at Moruya this morning (rider in white sleeves in video above). He settled and worked home down the outside. Jordy Mallyon came to Moruya to ride the jumpouts and he gave him a stoke up in the straight. He worked into the lead and was strong over the line. It was fortunate to be in a jumpout with some other good horses including Man of Peace, Akeed and Whisky’n’Diamonds.

He was blowing quite a bit afterwards so he needed the hit out before going racing. We plan to nominate him for the BM78 1400m at Randwick on the 10th of July.

Last week we welcomed our new horse Napoleon Solo to the stables. Please click above for his first video update. He has settled in great and did some 3/4 pace work this morning (video below).
