Pauper

Pauper

Pauper has been struggling with a bruised foot since returning to the stables more than a week ago. He has only been able to work a couple of days and although the sole is hardening, he will come right much faster if he is given a week or two on the grass.

The Moruya Cup has been rescheduled for April 12th so having a couple more weeks off now and starting afresh at the beginning of February will be good timing for that too. The video above is when we let him go in the paddock this morning. He is 100% sound when he is running on the grass which is a great sign for a quick recovery.

Pauper

Pauper has been galloping well since his last race and he had a solid hit out this morning with Hay Bale (final gallop in the video above). The weather for Saturday is forecast to be extremely hot so Racing NSW has moved the meeting from Warwick Farm in Western Sydney to Randwick. Even so, it is still forecast to be in the high 30’s.

We have nominated Pauper for the Highway Handicap on Saturday and for the meeting at Moruya on Sunday as a plan B if the weather or smoke is too risky for Pauper to travel to Sydney.

Pauper

Pauper has bounced back from his Rosehill race quicker than expected and he should be ready to return to the Highway Handicap, this time at Warwick Farm on the 21st of December. He had an easy week, cantering and to the river, since his race and he will do some pace work tomorrow if the bush fire smoke is not too bad.

Pauper

Pauper is coming along great as he heads towards the Highway Handicap at Rosehill on the 30th of November. The video above is his gallop on Friday where he was hard held and working strong to the line. The nominations will be out on Monday and fields published Wednesday morning. Tommy Berry has been booked to ride.

Pauper

Pauper started pace work again this week and will have a gallop on Saturday. The video above is his 3/4 pace from Thursday morning. He is coming along great as we aim for Rosehill on the 30th.

Pauper

Pauper is back at the stables after his short freshen up and now starts his preparations for the Highway Handicap at Rosehill on the 30th of November. The video above is his cantering on Tuesday morning.

Congratulations to all of Pauper’s owners! He made it back to back wins at Nowra on Sunday with an impressive finish in the Class 1 over 1200m. Patrick Scorse gave him another great ride and Pauper showed he has developed into a serious racehorse.

He has pulled up great and ate up overnight. A video of him this morning is below.

The race photos are available now on Bradley Photos website and the race replay can be viewed here

Pauper

Pauper had a solid gallop this morning on the course proper in preparation for his next start at Nowra on Sunday (video above). The fields will be published on Thursday morning.

Pauper

Pauper has pulled up great from his maiden victory on Friday. He has been full of beans and eating everything since his race and he did some pacework this morning (video below):

We couldn’t be happier with his performance on Friday and the way he worked to the finish line makes us very excited for his prep going forward. Link to race replay

An audio report from his jockey is below:

We will aim to race Pauper again at Nowra on the 20th in the Class 1 over 1200m.

The race photos are available on the Bradley Photos website including some great shots of his happy owners accepting the trophy. Congratulations to all of Pauper’s connections!

Pauper

Pauper has come through his barrier trial great and is now ready to head back to the races on Friday at Moruya. He will run in the 1000m Maiden.

His gallop on Thursday morning was very good and he went to the river for the first time on Friday for a recovery session. He is striding out in front in the video below.

He looks strong and healthy and we are looking forward to seeing him back at the races.

Jumpouts 10/09/19

Pauper had a good jumpout at Moruya this morning (video above). He settled at the back and worked home easily, running the fastest time of the morning. He pulled up well, not blowing at all and had no coughing or any other issues.

He will trial at Moruya on the 17th if all is well over the next week.

Pauper

Pauper is coming along well and will start galloping tomorrow. The video above is his 3/4 pace work last week and below is him walking off the track.

He is aiming to have an easy jumpout at Moruya on the 10th of September and then if he pulls up okay, he will trial on the 17th at Moruya to be passed to race again.

We are aiming to return to the races on the October long weekend at Moruya.

Pauper

Pauper started 3/4 pace on Tuesday morning (video above). He is going very well building up his fitness and should be ready to have a jumpout in mid-September.

Pauper

Pauper is coming along well and is building up his fitness by cantering each morning (video above). He will be ready to start some half pace next week. He is eating well and his behaviour is more mature than last preparation.

Pauper

Pauper is back at the stables, cantering of a morning and he seems very happy to be back in work with something to do. He has slotted straight back into stable life and is eating and working well. The video above is his first morning on the track.

Pauper

Pauper is doing very well at the stables following his bleeding attack at Kembla races on Tuesday. He recovered very quickly and is just having a few easy days resting at the stables before he goes to the paddock on the weekend for his two month spell.

Pauper

Pauper has come through his race at Wagga last week very well. He did some 3/4 pace this morning (video above).

We have nominated him for the 1200m Maiden at Kembla Grange on Tuesday 14th May.

Pauper

Pauper has been working well in the lead up to the $40K Country Maiden at Wagga on Friday. There are 26 horses nominated but we believe he should have no trouble making the field. The field will be published on Tuesday morning.
