Real Salty

Real Salty

Real Salty had her second jumpout for the prep today. Her rider is wearing green with white sleeves in the video above. She jumped straight to the lead and fought off the closing runners in the straight to win her heat in good time. She likes to race and wanted to fight off the challenger.

800m – 46.25, last 600m – 33.71

She will be nominated for Kembla on the 27th and Sapphire on the 29th.

Real Salty

Real Salty had her first jumpout for the prep over 800m this morning. Shaun Guymer came down to ride her and he is wearing the Thorotek silks (green with white sleeves) in the video above. Real Salty had only had one gallop in the lead up to today’s jumpout so we asked Shaun to keep her balanced and try to finish off. She travelled really well and worked to the line great. She wanted to race the runner that came up on her outside and we were really pleased with how she went today. She will have another trial before she goes racing.

Real Salty

Real Salty is doing very well in the paddock. She was very tired for the first week but she is feeling great now, squealing and zooming around when we visit. She is getting taller each month and is going to be a big girl when she is fully grown. We are planning to have her back at the stables around the 13th of September. The photo above was taken today.

Real Salty

Real Salty was unfortunately eliminated from the races on Friday because there were not enough scratchings so we gave her a jumpout this morning at Moruya. Her rider is in white sleeves in the video above. She is still learning so when she races we don’t want her to lead from the gates but today she jumped so well she landed in front. She was a bit wayward on her own and will definitely be better with some other horses around her.

We plan to nominate her for the 2YO 1010m at Moruya on the 12th of July.

Real Salty

Real Salty is entered to race at Moruya on Friday in the 1010m Maiden (Race 2 at 12:35pm). She is an emergency and currently needs one more scratching to gain a start. Please click above for her video update.

Real Salty

Real Salty had her second jumpout at Moruya this morning (video above). Shaun Guymer came down to Moruya to ride all our jumpouts and he rode Real Salty in a race saddle to practise the smaller saddle and girth on her. She was much better than at her first race start when she really disliked the small saddle. She jumped well and led the heat. She started to float in the straight so Shaun just pushed her to the line to keep her focused and on task. The heat was run in a good time and we are happy to take her racing off today’s performance. We plan to take her to the Maiden over 1010m at Moruya on the 25th of June.

Real Salty

Real Salty is having her second jumpout on Wednesday this week. Shaun Guymer is coming down to ride her in a race saddle to prepare her for her return to the races. She had a solid gallop with Boom and Zoom this week and is doing very well this time in.

Real Salty

Real Salty had a good performance at the jumpouts this morning at Moruya (her rider is wearing pink in the video above). She was a little nervous in the gates but she jumped well and just got a little tired in the closing stages. She has not done much galloping yet this prep so her fitness is still improving. She will have a second jumpout on the 2nd of June.
