Shrug

Shrug had her first jumpout for us at Moruya this morning. She was speedy but had a good blow afterwards. We will see how she is over the next few days before deciding if we give her another jumpout on the 8th of August or race her over 900m on the 6th at Moruya.

Shrug started pace work on the grass this week. The video above is her 3/4 pace on Saturday morning. She is coming along well and best of all, her feet have been perfect since she returned from the spelling paddock.

She is aiming to jump out on the 23rd of July.

Shrug is back at the stables and has done a few mornings of cantering. She had to spell for a couple of months to give her feet a break. All the bruising in her feet appears to have grown out and she has been perfectly sound since returning to work.

Shrug has three more weeks spelling in the paddock before she returns to training. She is moving considerably better and the bruising in her feet that was giving her trouble, has all but gone. Each time she gets new shoes, her feet look better and we hope she will be more comfortable working after having a good break.
