Yorker had an 800m jumpout this morning to try no blinkers and gain confidence around the other horses. His rider is wearing green with white sleeves in the video above. He travelled in good behind the leading pair and didn’t look to be resisting running towards them in the straight. They ran home in very fast time so he wasn’t able to pick them up but it was good to see he didn’t hang or baulk today.

800m – 47.32, last 600m – 33.68

We are planning to step him up to 1300m at Canberra on the 26th and give him a dig out of the gates to try to put him up on the speed. All his good race results have been run like this and if he can step up to further distances, he will be able to get a forward position more easily.

Yorker had a much improved second jumpout this morning at Moruya. The blinkers went on and we asked his rider to give him a good hit out. His rider is wearing pink in the video above.

He pulled up well and was moving good this afternoon. We plan to nominate him for the 1200m maiden at Moruya on the 13th of September.

Yorker had his first jumpout for the prep at Moruya this morning, his rider is wearing yellow in the video above. We asked his rider to get him in amongst the other runners but keep him balanced and not over extend him for his first hit out of the prep. He didn’t wear his blinkers today but he still travelled good and will improve when they go on.

He will have a second jumpout on the 7th of September.

Yorker did a great job at the jumpouts this morning, winning his heat (his rider is wearing yellow in the video above). He showed a lot more focus with the blinkers on and should take a lot of confidence from leading up the field today.

We plan to race him at Sapphire Coast on the 2nd of May in the 1200m Maiden.
