Our local Melbourne Cup day meeting was at Moruya this year. It was great to see a crowd at the races and we had a good day with three winners.
Icksta broke his maiden with Robbie Brewer aboard. Icksta is named after a close friend of ours and all our team are in the ownership group so it was a special victory.
Legislation loved the low weight and easy running style of his rider and was finally able to pick up his second career victory, three years and 34 starts after breaking his maiden. Legislation has a dedicated group of owners who were thrilled to see him win. It was his final chance to show something before being retired so he is sticking around for a bit longer.
Our lovely mare Sarzana was our third winner for the day. She is in an incredibly consistent patch of form at the moment with her last five starts yielding two seconds, a third and two consecutive wins. She is loving her racing and went to the line with her ears pricked.
