Blackhill Kitty is entered to race at Queanbeyan on Monday in race 5 at 3:35pm. She is currently an emergency so we need one scratching to gain a start. She has barrier 3 and only 52.5kg with Ruby Haylock riding. Please click above for her video update and thoughts on the race.

Blackhill Kitty had her first jumpout for the prep today at Moruya. Her rider is wearing yellow in the video above and she leads and wins the heat. Kitty has been working very well at home and her performance today was great. She ran straight and did not hang or curve her body. She was travelling well and did everything right. We had planned to give her a second jumpout in a fortnight but we will see how she pulls up over the next few days and she may be able to go to the races sooner.

Blackhill Kitty had trouble at Goulburn on Thursday when the barriers malfunctioned and she jumped into the closed gate. She has a small cut on her leg so we will give her a week in the paddock and aim to run again at Canberra on the 13th of March.

Blackhill Kitty had an improved performance at Sapphire Coast on the weekend. She is still curving her body and not letting down straight so we will try some new gear on her this week. Please click above for her post race report.

Blackhill Kitty has pulled up good from her run at Cowra. She didn’t handle the tight turn at all so it wasn’t a very good test of her over 1200m. We plan to keep her fresh and drop her back to the 1000m at Sapphire Coast on either 29th or 30th of January. Her post race video is above.

Blackhill Kitty has pulled up good from her race on Sunday. She will have an easy week this week and we will try the tongue tie towards the end of the week. Her race report video is above.

Blackhill Kitty will unfortunately need to be scratched tomorrow. The track is a Heavy 10. The stewards are doing an inspection early in the morning and the meeting may be called off.

With drier weather forecast next week, she will be nominated for Goulburn on Friday and Moruya on Sunday and we will run her at the track with the best conditions. Goulburn nominations will be out Monday.

We were very happy with her gallop on Tuesday morning. Her rider, Owen, commented “strong, she was chasing another horse on the sand track to her inside. Strong in the pace work and worked up the straight really nice”. Her rider’s comments after fast work can be viewed on her diary on the website or app.
