Chairman’s Choice is entered to race at Queanbeyan on Monday (Race 5 at 3:55pm). It is a colts and geldings BM50 so he has 62.5kg but the weight spread is not very big and it is not a strong field. He will be ridden by Shaun Guymer and has barrier 6. His recent trackwork has been good and he seems to be back to himself now after feeling a bit off at the beginning of the month. Chairman’s Choice has pulled up great from his first up run at Moruya and is fresh and happy. He is nominated for the Country Magic on Sunday at Sapphire Coast. The step up to 1400m will suit him and he has won at the track and distance previously. The nominations will be out tomorrow and the fields published on Thursday morning.
Chairman’s Choice had a solid jumpout this morning at Moruya (video above). He has only just started galloping at trackwork so we asked his rider to give him an easy hit out and he was hard held to the line. He travelled very well throughout and we are happy with his progress this prep.
We are planning to kick off his prep at Moruya on the 14th of January in the BM58 1200m.

Chairman’s Choice is racing on Sunday at Nowra in the BM58 over 1400m (Race 1 at 1:55pm). Shaun Guymer is riding him from barrier 10.
Chairman’s had his final gallop on Wednesday morning (video above) and he worked strong to the line. There are already three scratchings which will bring him into barrier 7 but may result in a lack of early speed. Chairman’s really needs the speed to be on to allow him to settle early and sprint in the closing stages. If the race is run too slowly, he can pull too hard and overdo it early. If the tempo suits, he is a good winning chance.
