Chairman’s Choice had a strong jumpout this morning. He didn’t wear his blinker as we will save them for raceday but he still settled good and finished off strong. He is on track for the Highway at Rosehill on the 11th.
Chairman’s Choice has settled back in and has been working very strong at trackwork. He is full of attitude since he got back. We are planning on jumping him out on the 1st of July as we head towards the Highway Handicap on the 11th at Rosehill.
The video below is his pace work this morning. He had his winter coat clipped off last week and he looks great.
Chairman’s Choice is racing at Moruya on Thursday in Race 6 at 3:45pm (BM58 1300m). Shaun Guymer is riding him from barrier 7 carrying 61kg.
He has come through the past week very well since his win and we think he is a good top three chance in this field.
He had a gallop with Instruments on Monday and a river recovery day this morning (video above). He is very fresh after doing very little since his Bega run.
Chairman’s Choice had a solid gallop with Sifu at the end of last week (video above). He is nominated for Sapphire Coast on Sunday. We have put the blinkers back on and dropped him back to 1400m.
Chairman’s Choice is racing on Monday at Moruya in the Class 2 1650m (Race 5 at 4:05pm). He is stepping up in distance and Shaun Guymer returns to the saddle. We have been pleased with his work between runs and expect him to continue to improve.
Chairman’s Choice has recovered very well from his good performance at Moruya. He is nominated to race again at Sapphire Coast on Monday 2nd of March. The video above is him at the river on Wednesday morning.
Chairman’s Choice is entered to race on Saturday 1st of February at Sapphire Coast in the BM58 over 1200m (Race 6 at 4:46pm). He has drawn barrier 11 and Shaun Guymer has been booked to ride with 60kg.
There are extreme weather conditions, including bush fire risk, forecast for Sapphire Coast on Saturday so if the conditions are not suitable, he can race at Canberra next Friday (7th of February).
We were very pleased with his recent jumpout and want to place him where the conditions allow him to run well. His jumpout video from last week is below:
Chairman’s Choice had his first gallop this morning since the bushfires interrupted his preparation (video above). We are planning on jumping him out on Thursday morning before deciding how soon he will race. There are options at Bega at the beginning of February and Canberra the following week.
Chairman’s Choice finished off very well in his jumpout this morning at Moruya (video above).
We were aiming to start him at Moruya on the 6th of January but we think he needs a bit more galloping so we will start him first up at Nowra in the Class 2 1400m on the 12th of January.
Chairman’s Choice had his first gallop of the prep this morning (included in the video above). He just coasted working on his own but it was a good first hit out. He will start galloping with a mate as he gets closer to racing.
He is still on track to have a jumpout on Christmas Eve at Moruya. He is holding good condition and his attitude has been great since his spell.
Chairman’s Choice is back at the stables after his three week spell. He is quite round after being in a grass paddock and he has been a lot more keen and playful at trackwork since his return so we think the spell did him good. The video above is him walking to warm up before trackwork.
Resort and Chairman’s Choice galloped together this morning in preparation for Canberra races on Friday (video above, Chairman’s Choice is on the outside). Both horses worked well to the line and have really picked up in their training heading into this next race. The race fields will be published tomorrow.
Chairman’s Choice had his first visit to the river this morning (at the rear in the video above). He went with river expert Resort and Pinch Memory, who was also a first timer.
Chairman’s Choice will gallop on Wednesday morning as he works towards the BM60 2000m at Canberra next Friday.
Chairman’s Choice has pulled up okay from his race at Moruya on Friday. We was a bit stiff on Monday at trackwork but has since come good and is back to himself again. From the wide gate, Shaun gave him a dig out of the gates to find a position but it caused him to over race a bit and left him flat in his sprint when he hit the straight. Link to race replay
An audio report from his jockey is below:
We will aim to race him again at Canberra on the 25th over 2000m.
Chairman’s Choice has settled in great over the past few weeks and is ready for his first NSW start on Friday at Moruya in the Batemans Bay Cup over 1650m.
His track gallops have been very good and he has out worked each mate he has been put with since he arrived. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do on raceday.
He has a great temperament and is very relaxed. The video below is his first time on the bush trail.
