Icksta

Icksta had an easy jumpout at Moruya this morning. He settles at the rear in the video above (rider in pink colours and blue cap) and works home down the outside.

We have him nominated for the races at Sapphire Coast on Saturday so we only wanted him to do a steady gallop today. He pulled up good and we will accept for Saturday and see how the field looks.

Icksta

Icksta has come through his recent jumpout very well and is going to have a second jumpout at home on Tuesday morning. We are planning to nominate him for Sapphire Coast on Saturday 13th of February in the Class 1 1200m.

Icksta

Icksta had a good run at the jumpouts this morning at Moruya (pink colours, blue cap in video above). He was good in the gates, jumped well and settled in second position. He finished off well in the straight, without being asked to do too much, making up ground on the leader.

He will have a second jumpout on the 9th of February.

Icksta

Icksta will have his first jumpout for the prep at Moruya tomorrow morning. We have been very pleased with how Icksta has come back this prep and his trackwork has been great so far. He is looking much better in the Summer months than he did through Winter and has grown into a nice strong gelding.

Icksta

Icksta is coming along very well. He is doing 3/4 pace on fast work mornings and is quickly building up his fitness. He is the second horse in the video above doing 3/4 pace on the B grass. We anticipate he will be ready for a jumpout at the end of the month.

Icksta

Icksta did a nice steady working gallop on Saturday morning (video above) in preparation for racing at Moruya tomorrow.

Icksta

Icksta is stepping up to 1605m on Sunday at Moruya (Race 3 at 2:05pm). Shaun Guymer is riding him from barrier 12. We had planned to race him in the 1310m race but the 1605m ended up much weaker so we have opted to step him up.

A number of the horse he raced last time are in the race and we think he should be fighting out the finish.

Icksta

Icksta had a good performance at Moruya on Tuesday. Missing the two races in July due to weather saw him a bit underdone in the closing stages of the race but he still ran well and will improve off that race. He is aiming to race again at Moruya on the 16th. Click below for a video update from trackwork this morning.

Icksta

Icksta is racing at Sapphire Coast on Sunday (Race 2 at 1:50pm) in the maiden over 1408m. He has a wide barrier but they have a long run from the barriers to the first corner so he should be able to find a spot. His trackwork has been very good and if he can find a bit more luck in running than his last race, we think he is a good each way chance.

The video above is his gallop on Tuesday (he is on the inside). The video below is Icksta on the bush track yesterday morning (he is leading).

Icksta

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to start Icksta at Moruya races this week as they were abandoned due to the wet weather. He will be entered to race at Sapphire Coast on Sunday the 26th of July.

Icksta

Icksta continues to improve in his work and mentally as he gets into this prep. We are very happy with how he is going as we head towards Moruya races next Monday. The video above is him walking this afternoon.

He is becoming a lot more mature and professional in his attitude. He is leading on the bush trail in the video below which was taken last week.
