Icksta

Icksta

Icksta has come through his second jumpout much better. We have nominated him to race on Friday at Moruya but there is a chance he will be balloted because there are so many horses entered. If he doesn’t race at Moruya, we will nominate him the following week.

His gallop this morning was very good (he is on the outside in the video above) so hopefully he gets a start on Friday.

Icksta

Icksta had a really good jumpout this week (video below). He was quick away and finished off great to win his heat. He will race at Moruya next Friday over 1200m and start to build up his distance to a more suitable race over further.

800m – 47.82, last 600m – 34.92

Icksta

Icksta had a good first jumpout for the prep at Moruya this morning. He jumped with the other horses, dropped out to settle at the rear, and finished off good in the straight. The video is below.

He will have a second jumpout on the 17th before he goes racing.

Icksta

Icksta will jumpout this Thursday. He had a practice jumpout on Saturday morning and he was quick out and strong in his gallop.

A video of the jumpouts will be available on Thursday afternoon.

Icksta

Icksta started 3/4 pace work and is coming along great. He is on the outside in the video above.

He had his winter coat clipped off this week which allows us to dry him more quickly after he is worked and keeps his skin in better condition through Winter by not being wet for so long each morning.

We are aiming to jump him out on the 3rd of June.

Icksta

Icksta is now into week 4 of this preparation. He started pace work this week and is coming along well.

Click above for video update.

Icksta

Icksta has been back at the stables for a week and he is cantering each morning building up his fitness (video above). He looks to have grown and filled out during his break and he has settled back into his stable life routine very well.

P1010921

Icksta returns to the races at Moruya on Monday in the 1425m maiden (Race 4 at 3:25pm). He has barrier 10 and Shaun Guymer is riding him. We have swapped his winkers for blinkers this start and he galloped wearing the blinkers on Tuesday. He continues to work well between races and is showing good toughness for a young horse. He is looking great and eating very well.

Icksta

Icksta continues to learn his trade and improve with more work and racing. The video above is him tracking Living Doll at a gallop on Tuesday. He is aiming to race again at Moruya on the 16th of March.

Icksta

Icksta

Icksta is racing on Sunday 2nd of February at Sapphire Coast over 1400m (Race 1 at 1:25pm). He will be ridden by Shaun Guymer from barrier 7, carrying 58.5kg.

Icksta will wear the winkers for the first time in a race after trying them in his jumpout last week (jumpout video below).

Boom and Zoom, Icksta

We are into our second week back at work since the bushfire evacuation and Boom and Zoom galloped with Icksta this morning (click above for video). Both horses worked well and have remained quite fit during their short break in the paddock. Both will have a jumpout on Thursday morning and then look to race the the Bega carnival on the 1st or 2nd of February.

Icksta

Icksta is on track to have his first start of the prep at Moruya on Sunday over 1300m. He has recovered from his jumpout well and continues to eat and work well. The fields will be published on Thursday morning.

Airfree, Icksta

Airfree and Icksta jumped out together at Moruya this morning. Airfree is in the lead on the rail and Icksta is sitting at the rear and works home into 2nd in the video above.

Airfree had a good hit out and is ready to trial at Moruya on the 22nd to be reinstated to race on Moruya Cup Day in January. She has been working very well at home and we are really looking forward to her returning to the races.

Icksta was thrown in the deep end today, racing Airfree who has won three races, and the other horse has won four races in its career. Icksta’s jockey did have to give him a hustle up coming out of the turn but he worked home well and he punched through the middle of the field, which is great practice. This heat was the fastest of the morning with the 800m ran in 46.84 seconds and the last 600m in 33.27 seconds.

Icksta definitely showed improvement from his first jumpout and he will now aim to race at Moruya in the 1300m Maiden on the 22nd of December.

Icksta

Icksta has continued to improve following his jumpout. He galloped this morning with Gossip and he worked much better to the line (he is on the outside in the gallop video above). He will have his second jumpout on Tuesday next week.

Icksta

Icksta had his first jumpout for the prep this morning at Moruya (video above). He only had one gallop heading into this jumpout so we asked his jockey to give him an easy run. He jumped well but just lost focus a bit as he rounded the turn. The horse on his outside was quite wayward but Pat pushed him up into the gap. This is all good practice for a green horse learning to race and he did his best work over the last 200m which is good to see.

He pulled up good and will have a second jumpout on the 10th of December. We are aiming to give him his first start at Moruya on the 22nd of December over 1300m.

Icksta

Icksta had his first gallop for the prep on Saturday (on the outside in the video above). He is ready to have an easy jumpout on Tuesday (26th November). He will most likely have a second jumpout on the 10th of December before he heads to the races.

Icksta

Icksta has been building up his 3/4 pace each fast work morning and he is coming along great. The video above is his 3/4 pace on Thursday morning. He should be ready to have a jumpout next fortnight on the 26th on November.

Icksta

Icksta started half pace this morning. He was suffering from a bit of muscle soreness last week as his body gets used to being back in training but he has pushed through well and is stepping up to start fast work now.

Icksta

Icksta has settled back into stable life very well. The video above is him returning from trackwork this morning.

Icksta

Icksta is back at the stables and has resumed trackwork (video below)

He looks like he has grown during his break and we think the spell has been really good for his development. He will do at least three weeks slow work before he starts any pace work.
