Resort

Resort has pulled up well from his last race and will head to Sapphire Coast for the 2200m race on Sunday. He won this race in 2019 and ran 3rd in 2020. He has been working great at home and a return to one of his favourite tracks should see his racing results improve.

Resort

Resort has pulled up very well from his first up run at Canberra on Tuesday. We were happy with his performance over such a short distance and it was good to see him steaming through the line. He had a relaxing river day on Thursday as part of his recovery (he is closest to the camera in the video above).

Resort

Resort has continued to thrive since his return to Moruya and he performed well at the jumpouts this morning. He is in the pink colours in the middle in the video above. He finished off strong, taking the lead on the line. His rider said he wanted to race the other horses and his behaviour was very good.

Rather than do another 800m jumpout, we will aim to race Resort at the Moruya meeting on the 20th. He will not get much out of another jumpout because he is a stayer so starting him first up over 1400m will get us on our way to his preferred distance.

Resort

Resort will race in the Sapphire Coast Cup over 2200m on Sunday 2nd of February (Race 3 at 2:35pm). He will be ridden by Shaun Guymer from barrier 7 with 61kg.

He is carrying a lot of weight and it has been 6 weeks since his last start but he has been working very well at home and the race is winnable if it plays out in his favour.

Airfree, Resort

This morning a number of horses had their first gallop since returning to work after the bushfire evacuation. Airfree led the way and Resort followed close behind in the video above. Airfree sprinted great out of the turn and Resort wound up in the straight, chasing her down.

Resort will aim to race at Sapphire Coast on the 2nd of February in either the Sapphire Coast Cup over 2200m or the Bega Cup over 1600m.

Airfree will have another gallop before we decide to race her either in the Town Plate at Bega on the 2nd of February or the Highway Handicap at Warwick Farm on the 8th of February.

Resort

Resort is still on track to race at Canberra on the 15th of December. We have had to adjust our training around the bush fire smoke but we are planning on giving him a solid hit out tomorrow morning with a mate.

Resort

Resort pulled up okay from his race at Rosehill on Wednesday and was moving good when he cantered on Saturday. The race was run at a walk in the early stages, making the sprint home too fast for Resort to be in contention. We were disappointed Resort’s jockey wasn’t able to make is a true staying contest which would have suited him better. An audio report from his jockey is below:

We are planning on dropping him back to country grade in the Federal at Canberra on the 15th of December over 2000m.

Resort

Resort has pulled up great after his race at Rosehill on Saturday. We were very pleased with Resort’s run. He jumped excellently and put himself in the first bunch of the field. The pace was very muddled throughout but Jess Taylor gave him a great ride and he battled away up the straight to finish 7th, beaten 4.5 lengths in a tough field.

An audio report from Jess is below:

Resort had a walk and a pick of grass on Sunday and a wade at the river this morning. We are planning on returning to Rosehill on the 20th of November to race in the BM70 over 2400m. Jess had been booked to ride.

Resort

Resort is entered to race at Rosehill in the Country Classic on Saturday (Race 5 at 3:15pm). Jess Taylor is riding him and he has drawn barrier 6. We planned Resort’s prep with this 2000m country only race as his goal and he has been improving at home and at the races heading towards Saturday’s race. His gallop on Tuesday is the video above and he is fresh and well. With such good prize money, the field is strong and we think Resort should be able to finish in the top six.

Chairman's Choice, Resort

Resort and Chairman’s Choice galloped together this morning in preparation for Canberra races on Friday (video above, Chairman’s Choice is on the outside). Both horses worked well to the line and have really picked up in their training heading into this next race. The race fields will be published tomorrow.

Resort

Resort had a good gallop on Monday morning (video above). His work has improved and we are happy to go racing again but it has been a month since his last run so rather than race over 2000m on Thursday, we will take Resort to Canberra next Friday in the Federal BM70 1600m (country only horses).

Resort

Resort had a gallop this morning on the course proper and he worked home well (video above). We will nominate him for Kembla Grange on the 17th.

Resort

Resort is entered to race on Thursday at Hawkesbury in the BM64 over 2100m (Race 6 at 3:20pm). The rail is out so it is a small field of only 10 runners. Resort has drawn barrier 7 and with Pat Scorse’s claim, he will carry only 55.5kg.

Resort had a solid sprint up on Tuesday morning (video above).

A video update on Resort heading into tomorrow’s race is below.
