Resort

Resort

Resort steps up to his preferred distance when he tackles the BM66 over 2010m (Race 5 at 3:40pm) at Moruya tomorrow. He will be ridden by claiming apprentice Belinda Wright to reduce the huge weight he has been given.

He has been working well and is very full of himself at the moment so we are expecting a much improved performance off his shorter distance runs. The video above is his gallop on Tuesday last week and he had another solid hit out on Saturday morning.

From the wide barrier he will settle and start to work into the race from the 600m mark. He has very good stats third up and we think he will run well.

Resort

Resort steps up to the 1425m Open on Sunday at Moruya. His gallop from Tuesday morning is the video above. He has come through his first start very well and is ready to start building up his race distances towards 2000m.

Resort

Resort is entered to race at Moruya on Tuesday 6th August in the Open 1200m (Race 3 at 2:10pm). He has barrier 5 and Jess Taylor will be riding him with 57kg.

His gallop on Tuesday (video above) was strong and he had a shorter sprint up this morning on the grass where he also hit the line well.

The 1200m is obviously just a starting point for Resort and we will be happy if we see him finishing off.

Resort

Resort has powered through from his jumpout this week and is feeling very well. He galloped this morning (video above) and he was strong to the line.

Rather than another 800m jumpout, we are planning on starting him over 1200m on the 6th of August at Moruya to use as a second trial. Jess Taylor has been booked to ride. We then plan to race him over 1425m at Moruya on the 18th of August in the South Coast Clubs Cup.

The video below is him coming off the track this morning (turn on the sound for Pat’s comments).

Resort

Resort had an easy jumpout at Moruya this morning and was strong through the line. We will probably take him straight to the races now rather than do a second 800m jumpout. There is a 1200m Open at Moruya on the 6th of August which we will aim him at.

His rider’s comments are recorded on the video above.

Resort

Resort is powering through his pace work and is ready to jumpout next week. The video above is from this morning (Thursday) and below is his gallop on Tuesday morning.

We couldn’t be any happier with how he is going heading into Tuesday’s jumpout.

Resort

Resort had his first gallop of the prep this morning (video above). He is feeling really good and has been keen to step up from 3/4 pace.

He is on track to have a jumpout on the 23rd.

Resort

Resort started pace work this week as he works towards the jumpouts on the 23rd of July. The video above is his 3/4 pace on the grass on Saturday morning.

Resort

Resort is nearly half way through his spell and he is loving his holiday in the paddock. He has befriended the cows in the paddock next door and spends all day eating grass near them. He storms around at feed time and still thinks he is the best, even in the paddock.

Resort

Resort has come through his run at Wagga very well and is working great in the lead up to the Wagga Gold Cup on Friday. There were a lot of nominations so we have put him in a BM70 2100m at Warwick Farm on Wednesday as a back up plan on the off chance he doesn’t make the field on Friday. We have every expectation he will take his place in the Wagga Cup field and will know for sure on Tuesday morning.

Pauper, Resort

Resort and Pauper galloped together on Tuesday morning (click above for video).

They worked from the 1000m mark in the following sectionals:

15.15, 14.53, 14.16, 11.37, 11.54

Resort

Resort is back at the stables after a quick 10 day freshen up in the paddock. He did some 3/4 pace on Saturday (click above for video) and he was very strong.

He is aiming to race at Wagga on the 14th of April over 1800m.

Resort

Resort has recovered from his Rosehill win brilliantly. He did some 3/4 pace this morning and should be ready to race again at Kembla Grange on the 15th. He never missed a grain of feed and he was very happy to get back to the river this week.

Resort

Resort has been entered to race at Rosehill on Wednesday following a very good track gallop on Saturday (video above).

The track at Wagga on Friday is likely to be very firm so we decided to go to Rosehill instead. We were initially concerned about the 2400m but we think if he has an easier first 400m of the race than he did at Randwick, he should be able to run out the distance.

Resort

Resort had a solid gallop this morning on the course proper, working home the last 400m in 22.35 seconds.

He has been nominated to race at Royal Randwick on Saturday over 2400m.

Resort

Resort is entered to race in the Sapphire Coast Cup on Sunday at Bega.

He had a solid gallop with Ollie the Third on Tuesday morning (video above) and they worked home in the following sectionals:

17.22, 16.23, 15.06, 11.59, 11.17

Resort went to the river for a recovery session on Wednesday (video below) and he will have a sprint up on Friday.
