Following the races being abandoned on Sunday, we decided to jumpout Tornac this morning (in Thorotek silks in video above). The heat is over 1200m and we wanted to use it as a good hit out to replace the missed race. Tornac was a bit put off by the shifty track but he still finished off good and he will be nominated for Moruya on the 3rd of January for his next race start.
Tornac

Tornac is working towards his next race at Moruya on the 19th (class 2 1300m). He had an especially strong gallop on Tuesday morning and his rider, Lauren, rated it as the best gallop she has been ridden him in. The photo above is him coming out of the river on Wednesday morning. The river is Tornac’s most favourite thing and he starts chatting away in excitement when he sees the float getting ready.
He will have his final gallop on Tuesday morning. His trackrider’s comments on the gallop will be on his diary on the website and app on Tuesday afternoon.

Tornac had a 1000m jumpout this morning after missing his planned race on the weekend when Kembla was called off. His rider is wearing pink in the video above. He jumped to the lead from the gates and won the heat. We are really happy with how Tornac is going and his whole attitude and demeanor are back to how he was when he was stringing together consistent good race results.
1000m – 59.75, last 600m – 34.27
He will be nominated for Kembla on the 27th and Sapphire Coast on the 29th.
Tornac is entered to race on Saturday at Kembla Grange (Race 3 at 2:25) but the weather is not looking good at this stage. The track is currently Heavy 10 and the stewards are doing a track inspection first thing tomorrow to decide if the meeting even goes ahead. If the track remains Heavy 10, we will likely scratched Tornac because he is first up.
If he doesn’t run tomorrow, we will jump him out on Tuesday and race him at Kembla on the 27th or at Sapphire Coast on the 29th.
A video update for Tornac is above.

Tornac had his second jumpout for the prep today, this time over 1000m. Tash Winton rode him and she is in the white with blue sleeves colours in the video above. He wore his blinkers today and he finished off well to the line, ridden out hands and heels. He will be ready to go to the races in a couple of weeks off today’s performance.

Tornac had a good first jumpout for the prep this week over 800m. His rider is in the light blue colours with the white cap in the video above. He usually takes a couple of jumpouts to start performing but even without his blinkers on he worked well to the line. He has only just started galloping at trackwork but he recovered quite quickly after the run so his fitness is coming along well. He looks like a different horse to last prep in his coat and demeanour.
He will have a second jumpout in a fortnight.

Tornac is racing at Moruya on Friday in the Class 1 1200m (Race 4 at 1:45pm). Shaun Guymer is riding him with top weight from barrier 15. He has been feeling very well in the lead up to the race. Please click above for his video update.

Tornac had his second jumpout at Moruya this morning (video above). He showed significant improvement from his first jumpout and finished off good with his blinkers on. He wasn’t hunted out of the gates so he settled at the rear but he worked through the pack well.
We plan to race Tornac in the Class 1 over 1200m at Moruya on the 25th of June.
