Tornac will have his second jumpout this Wednesday at Moruya. He wore the blinkers in his track gallop last week and he switched right on. He will wear them in the jumpout to really sharpen him up in preparation for his first start at Moruya on the 25th of June in the Class 1 over 1200m.
Tornac
Tornac had his first jumpout of the prep this morning at Moruya. His rider is wearing pink in the video above. As is his style, he was uninspiring today with no blinkers on and only minimal fast work in the lead up. He will have a second jumpout on the 2nd of June where he will wear his blinkers and be asked for a proper hit out. We know from last prep, his first jumpout is average and he just gets better from there.

Tornac had some mild swelling in one of his knees this week. It was checked by the vet and there is no problem but we don’t want to run him on a very hard surface for his next start. After his last run at Canberra, we had planned to either turn him out or race him at Canberra on Canberra Cup Day. Since there is no rain forecast and the track will likely be dry, we are going to turn him out for a spell and bring him back when the Highway Handicaps are back on and the tracks are softer. He will go out for four weeks.
Tornac is racing tomorrow at Canberra (Race 1 at 1:04pm). Please click below for his video update:

Tornac continues to think he is the best since his win at Moruya. According to his rider “he thinks he is it and a bit”. We have him nominated for 1200m races on Saturday and Sunday this weekend at Sapphire Coast. We will accept in both and pick the best race for him. Fields are published on Thursday.

Tornac is ready to start his campaign at Moruya on Monday in the Maiden over 1200m (Race 2 at 1:35pm). He will be ridden by Shaun Guymer from barrier 7 and he will be wearing the blinkers, like he did in his second jumpout.
He had his final gallop on Tuesday morning with Pahang (he is on the inside in the video above). The blinkers really make a difference to this horse by switching him on to his job. He should be able to take up a mid field position and make a good finishing burst. We think he is a good each way chance.
Tornac had is second jumpout for the prep at Moruya this morning (video above). He jumped quickly and then settled before finishing off strong and winning his heat. We asked his rider to give him a good hit out and he wore the blinkers (like he does when he races). He can be a bit lazy at trackwork but he galloped very well today when he was asked to.
He is aiming to race at Moruya on the 4th of January.

Our recent stable addition, Tornac, had his first jumpout at Moruya this morning. He is in the black and white colours in the video above. He was nervous in the gates, which is not unusual at a first jumpout for the prep. He travelled well throughout the run but just came off the bit in the closing stages. He has not done a lot of galloping at trackwork yet so he was just having an easy jumpout this morning. He will have a harder hit out at his second jumpout on the 16th of December before he goes to the races.

Tornac is coming along well and will be jumping out on the 2nd of December. Click above for a video update.
Tornac has really taken to the bush track and he had his first visit to the river this morning, which he loved. He is leading on the bush track in the video below.
His favourite thing is to have a roll in the sand after he works, before he has his wash:

Tornac is coming along great, building up his fitness. Click below for a couple of videos from this week. His videos are also now available on the Thorotek App.

Tornac is into his second week of cantering. He has settled in great since arriving. He is strong on the track and eats everything that is put in front of him. He will do a few weeks of cantering before starting fast work.
