Airfree

Airfree had a good performance at the jumpouts this morning (video above). She was in the 1200m heat and we used the jumpout as a pseudo first race start for the prep. She settled at the rear of the field, pulled to the outside in the straight and worked past the other runners to win the heat.

We are planning to nominate her for the Gundagai Cup on the 13th. The cup is over 1400m so the 1200m hit out this morning should have prepared her for the longer first up distance.

Airfree

Airfree had a good first jumpout for the prep at Moruya this morning. She is sitting 3rd in the pink colours in the video above. She came out of the turn travelling but just levelled off in her acceleration in the straight. The winner of the heat was Hay Bale. She wasn’t blowing too hard when she returned to the stalls and she ate all her breakfast and was moving good this afternoon.

We are planning to take her to Gundagai on the 13th of November for her first start. She may jumpout again on the 6th depending on how she is going next week.

Airfree

Airfree had her first gallop for the prep on Tuesday (video above). She will be ready to have a jumpout on Wednesday 21st of October.

Airfree

Airfree has been building her fitness and is ready to start pace work this week. The physio will be visiting on Thursday to go over her.

Airfree

Airfree’s feet have finally come good and she is sound enough to work. She has been lunging this week to start to build her fitness without being ridden. She had a long spell so it is a good way to start her off and she can introduce some cantering on the track next week.

Airfree

Airfree returned to the stables with a hind foot abscess. She then had a second abscess surface in a front foot so she has been recovering for the past week. She was able to start cantering this morning (video above).

Airfree

Airfree is back at the stables after a five week spell in the paddock. She had a really good break but unfortunately, she got a foot abscess over the weekend and will need a few more days off before she can start trackwork.

Airfree

Airfree has fully recovered from her race at Nowra. Her eye is 100% now and she has been working well. We have her nominated to race this weekend in the Merimbula Jazz Cup at Sapphire Coast on Sunday (1600m). We have also thrown in a nom at Randwick on Saturday in the BM78 1600m in case she gets way too much weight on Sunday.

Airfree has pulled up great from her Moruya Cup victory. A video update from this afternoon is below:

Airfree has come through her race at Canberra on the weekend very well. She is moving good and has bounce back quickly.

We are panning on stepping her up to 1400m next start and are aiming to race her at Sapphire Coast on the 27th of March.

Airfree

We are relieved to say we think Airfree is back to herself again and is ready to race. She has responded to the recent physio work better than any other horse we have treated and her pace work is up to her best. The video above is her sprint up on Thursday morning.

She is racing at Canberra on Sunday 8th of March in Race 1 at 1:20pm. She has barrier 5 and Jess Taylor is on board. We expect to see Airfree racing up to her true ability again on Sunday.

Airfree

Following Airfree’s race at Sapphire at the beginning of the month, we weren’t happy with how she was stretching out in her work and she looked to be sore in her back. She was given a week of lunging so she could be worked without a saddle and rider on to give her back a break and she had a visit from the physio last week.

Since the physio treatment, and with the ongoing stretches and exercises she has been give to do, she is moving a lot better and was able to do some 3/4 pace on Tuesday morning. We think she will be right to race again next week and plan to nominate her for Canberra on the 8th of March.
